I’m a 45 year old lawyer and a mom of teens. A unique thing about me is that we love adventure travel as a family and our best trip ever was to Botswana 🇧🇼
I started swimming 🏊 competitively (para) around age 12 and ended that in university. I didn’t do any other sports and reluctantly worked out in the gym once or twice a week in my 20s, 30s and 40s. In that time, I had two babies and a hip replacement - that was the hardest thing I have ever done!
I found para powerlifting through an ad on Instagram 🤣The most interesting thing about para powerlifting is the other athletes; every one of them is tougher and more resilient than you can imagine. And funny!
My goal with #ParaPowerlifting was to be more capable in my daily life. I wanted to walk without using my cane all the time, have more stamina for fun activities with my family, and feel more energetic. I accomplished all those goals within 4 months so I guess I need some new goals! I love crushing PRs. International comp coming soon....?🤔
