How to: START

2023 is here! This is a great time to start setting new goals & revisiting old ones. Our trainers have put together a short 4 step list to help you get started on your fitness goals!

  1. Create a Plan

    • Keep the goal simple & specific: For Example, Complete 1 Pullup

    • Set a realistic date to accomplish your goal: 3 Months

    • Create a way to track your progress: Notebook or Excel Spreadsheet

  2. Start Small

    • Break down your goal into even smaller pieces: Start going to a gym, buy workout wear, research or get advice about pullups etc.

    • Start with what you feel comfortable with (maybe you’re nervous about going to the gym alone). Go around checking out different gym environments, wear the outfit that makes you feel comfortable, bring a friend/family member to try out a new space.

  3. Don’t be Afraid to Reach Out

    • It can be scary trying something new, don’t be afraid to reach out to a certified Personal Trainer/Coach to assist you in developing a plan.

    • Working out with someone can decrease the social anxiety when we try something new that we might be scared looks weird/wrong.

    • Accountability with a friend/family member/professional can help increase the chances of sticking to that new goal!

  4. Stay Consistent

    • Not every workout/gym session will look the same, the hardest part is showing up. Keep going, not everyday is going to be the best workout ever. But consistency will make the difference when it comes to accomplishing your goal.
